Asia & Latin America… Growth Drivers for the Next 20 Years

Since 2000, trade between Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean has been growing at an annual average rate of 20%, reaching around US$442 billion last year.  China is now Latin America’s second most important trading partner.  In just 8 years, 18 free trade agreements have been implemented between economies in the 2 regions, with 4 more signed and anther 8 under negotiation.

This dyanamic relationship has helped Latin America and the Caribbean post average growth of around 5% over the past decade, and Asia nearly 7%.
