Indonesia Stealing Market Share from China

The “Made in China” tag may be getting some new competition.  Make room for “Made in Indonesia”.  Global footwear and apparel brands, in the endless pursuit of lower costs, are shifting manufacturing to this nation of islands, drawn by a large labor pool, stable wages and limited bureaucracy.  The Indonesian Footwear Industry Association said that the country’s footwear exports increase to about US$2 billion in 2010 from about US$1.7 billion in 2009.
